newbie install - apache is not running

Postby kahuna44 » 18. December 2011 03:21

I just installed XAMPP and it appears that apache is not running. I have clicked on the start button but it does not say that it is "running". MySql appears to be running fine. Because apache is not running I am not able to configure MySql by going to http://localhost/phpmyadmin (I receive a "Page not found" error). thanks in advance for any help resolving this -

If there are no log files in the \xampp\apache\logs folder then you may need to download and install the VC9 runtime file from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... px?id=5582

If there is an error.log file in that folder then look for clues why Apache can't start.

New users can find self help by reading these first:
readme_en.txt file in the xampp folder.
