Can't see images in XAMPP/WordPress (Win XP) 1.7.7 [SOLVED]

Postby JustCurious » 17. November 2011 21:05

Hi, this is my first post, so thanks in advance for your help and patience.

I installed XAMPP and WP on XP Pro and after some early problems to start Apache and MySql I was able to solve that.
But I wasn't able to see XAMPP images and styles in the browser.
XAMPP was working good but it was looking not like it was expected to: as if path/url to imgs or CSS were wrong.

I then installed WP, apparently without any problem.
But when I logged in I had the same problem: can't see imgs and CSS formatted pages, only plain text.

And also the WP interface is missing images and formatted items.

What I have to do?

Try reinstalling XAMPP using these alternative instructions to use the zip or 7zip archive file:
viewtopic.php?p=179699#p179699

This method often fixes issues that seem unfixable, which may have been caused by the installer.

Good luck. :)

Sharley,
thanks for your prompt reply.

I already reinstalled XAMPP several times.....

XAMPP and WordPress seem to work fine, but I can't see them correctly.

Tried to install in same way on a Vista notebook and I was able to see images and styles in XAMPP.

How can XAMPP and WP work fine if you can't see the images and CSS?

How did you install many times by using the installer version again.

If so then you can expect to get the same result unless you change the method used.

WOW. Sharley!!!

Your last input was the right one, now I see XAMPP correctly, and I'll test WP visualization asap.

As for to not ticking any service module box, the gray thick on Apache, MySql and Filezilla SVC in the Control Panel v3.0.2 after new installation means that they are NOT installed? (when I try to click them I enter in a loop of authorization requests..)

THANKS!!

Try download and using the latest v3 panel from here:
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=48932

If you have any issues with the panel then please post them in this topic
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=46743&start=75

That's good you finally have it working. 8)

I will close this now and mark it solved.

Best wishes. :)
