i have found / reproduced an issue. Can someone confirm that?
Maybe it is a similar issue like here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=48936
Here the details:
Issue: Missing files after extraction
System: Windows XP Home x86 @ Singlecore 1,6Ghz
XAMPP-Downloadfile: xampp-win32-1.7.7-VC9.7z (downloaded 20/09/2011)
Extractor: IZarc 4.0 Beta 1 (Build 1760)
done after Download: VHost defined, setup_xampp.bat executed, CP v3.0.9 included
MySQL could not be started because of missing database files (host.MYD). They are included in the 7z file but will not be extracted (and iZarc don't give any message about that exept that all was successful).
here is my mysql error log

P.S.: The current 7zip extractor can extract the file completely. So maybe an extractor issue.
