Mercury mail 60 day de-activation??

Postby Harpist » 04. November 2011 00:02

Hi folks,

I installed and configured the XAMPP version of Mercury mail on my home server in the beginning of September. It has worked fine until two days ago when it suddenly stopped working (exactly 60 days after installation). Is there an automatic de-activation and do I need to apply for some type of a license (I am using it for my home e email, not a commercial operation)? I guess it could be a coincidence that something went wrong at 60 days but I hadn't done any configuration changes.

Any assistance would be welcome.

Thanks

There have been some license changes and if you run Mercury as a Windows service then you need to purchase a license or request a free licence:

http://community.pmail.com/pmail/MercuryPricing.aspx

If that does not solve your problem then install an alternative, for example:
http://www.hmailserver.com/

The latest version of XAMPP 1.7.7 will not let you install a Windows service for Mercury Mail to keep within these new license conditions.

In the next XAMPP release Mercury Mail Server may be replace by XAMPP Mail:
