XAMPP - run Apache problem ! [SOLVED]

Postby striking » 17. October 2011 13:33

Hello guys. I have horrific problem, i install XAMPP and when i try to start Apache, just saying "Apache started [ port 80 ] - Busy...". So i start to search for solution in Google. I check that Local port 80 is free, Uncheck the option in skype which use this port, try to close skype, i don't have started IIS and UAC. Try to copy php.ini in the /xampp/apache/bin/ from /xampp/php/ folder because was missing but still nothing. When i restart i start the Apache and the green "running" was show up for 1 second and after that, don't want to run again... I don't know what to do ! Please help me!

I use: WIndows 7, XAMPP 1.7.7

Read the \xampp\apache\logs\error.log file for possible clues.

If there is no error or access log files let me know.

Exit the version 2.5 control panel after stopping any components you may have running and double click on the new xampp-control-3-beta.exe file in the xampp folder.

Then click on the Netstat button and see if there is anything using ports 80 and 443.

The folder Log is empty, I exit from 2.5 control panel, restart OS and run the new control panel. Still nothing. Here is what he says
15:56:40 [main] Initializing main
15:56:40 [main] Windows version: 6.1 (build 7601) - Service Pack 1
15:56:40 [main] Xampp version: 1.7.7
15:56:40 [main] Control center version: 3.0.2 [ Compiled: Jul 21th 2011 - build #1 ]
15:56:40 [main] Running as admin - good!
15:56:40 [main] Working with basedir: "c:\program files (x86)\xampp\"

Hmm now and MySQL don't want to start... to play with check's in Service colon, and after that for MySQL just saying "Starting MySQL app..." and nothing, but when i start Apache is shows up PID number for 1 second and after that disappears. So now nothing want to run... :(
15:56:40 [main] Initializing moduls
15:56:41 [main] Starting check-timer
15:56:54 [apache] Starting apache app...
15:56:54 [apache] Status change detected: running
15:56:56 [apache] Status change detected: stopped

No log files means Apache has never started.

Try and Stop MySQL and remove the green Ticks in both MySQL and Apache Service modules.

If you can't remove the ticks try another method by clicking on the Win-services button and locate Apache2.2 and mysql and select to start the services if the selection is available.

Once started and you have closed the services window see if Apache and MySQL are running in the Control Panel.

Let me know how it all goes.

You cannot install XAMPP to a path that has spaces in it. You need to install it to the root of your drive such as "C:\XAMPP". Having spaces in your path will break things.

Yes just spotted that and the main problem is not just spaces but the special characters ( ).

You should follow the installation instructions on the XAMPP for Windows web site where you downloaded XAMPP from and read the readme_en.txt file in the xampp folder.xampp.
