MySql won't start from control panel

Postby ScottR » 18. September 2011 23:25

On my new computer (OS - Windows 7) the MySql and FileZilla won't start from the XAMPP control panel. I can start MySql using c:xampp\mysql_start.bat and FileZilla from the Windows Services in the OS (and the XAMPP Conrol Panel then shows them as Running). While these are okay work-arounds, it would be much more convenient to be able to start these from the control panel as is used to work on my old (Vista) computer.

Anyone else having this problem, or know of a solution?

Thanks,
Scott

PS: I'm using XAMPP Version 1.7.4

It seems that the current Control Panel is buggy on some computers (I've used it on several hundred XAMPP installations without problems). There is a new one available, you can try it: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=46743&p=179939#p179939

You could also try the beta of XAMPP 1.7.5, i think it is included there.

Thank you. The controller 3.0.2 solves it. Works like a charm

I'm holding off installing version 1.7.5 since it requires a clean install from 1.7.4. A task for another day.

Thanks again,
Scott
