importing csv file

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum. I am trying to import a csv file that I saved from a Microsoft excel file. The import works except it will not import records that are not unique for a certain field. when I go the structure I see a column indicating that the field is unique but do not see how to change it. Any help is appreciated

I'm guessing again - You mean in phpMyAdmin???

I will say before you change anything, its likely that any fields/colums that are marked as 'unique' are part of an index - and - if you change that you may break the script/application.

The last is just based on experience. If its your own code - do what you will.

You are correct with both of your guesses. I am trying to get my database built before I actually start writing my code. This is my first project so I am learning step by step. I went to link provided in your post but it did not help my situation. Thanks for your response

Glad you got it sorted -

If you are building your own projects, you should learn about MySQL Workbench - way, way more powerful than phpMyAdmin. (and free). Don't get me wrong, I use both at times - but for database design - MySQL Workbench wins handsdown.
