/phpmyadmin redirects to phpmyadmin/xampp

I want to simply be able to type in phpmyadmin into my browser's address bar and go directly to xampp's phpmyadmin, but I'm redirected to http://phpmyadmin/xampp, which is just the normal xampp homepage, and the only way I can actually reach phpmyadmin is to click phpMyAdmin under Tools, which takes me to http://phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin. I really don't want to have to go through that or save a bookmark if I don't have to.

I tried setting up a vhost for c:/xampp/phpmyadmin, but that gives me a Forbidden error. Frankly I don't think I should have to do that anyways since it's above htdocs, but I found a file that appears to configure this (C:\xampp\apache\conf\extra\httpd-xampp.conf), adn while that goes to C:/xampp/phpMyAdmin, I'm still redirected to http://phpmyadmin/xampp.

How do get phpmyadmin to simply go to the actual phpMyAdmin homepage on my xampp?

Nobody's ever had a problem with having to type in phpmyadmin/phpmyadmin to get to xampp's phpmyadmin? You'd rather do that or save a bookmark among a zillion other bookmarks than type in a few letters and hit Enter?
