I have been reading over the net that a new DDoS attack have been crashing Apache 2.x versions. Apache released 2.2.20 to fix this. I am curious to know how do I update apache to 2.2.20 in XAMPP and configure it properly?

Thanks.

Short answer - "you can't"

If you want to be able to update the elements of a 'stack', you have to build and integrate that stack with standalone components.

If you think anything you are doing is worthy of a DDOS attack, you should not be using XAMPP period, as it is not intended for production environments.
