XAMPP start - help

XAMPP start - help

I started XAMPP - then clicked on start next to Apache and MySql - then I am supposed to click on Admin next to MySql - to start it up
BUT
When I clicked the button it just did nothing

What do I need to do???

A. You "START" MySQL with the "Start" button on the MySQL 'line', did you do that 1st ? The Admin button links to phpMyAdmin -

B. - can you go to http://localhost/xampp ???

If so, you can use the phpMyAdmin link there-

No matter what else, If its XAMPP 1.7.4, download and install the new Control Panel its easier to use and has more diagnostics

Yes, I clicked on start by Apache and MySql and then clicked on Admin next to MySql - which is supposed to start a new screen with tabs - but mine does not go anywhere.

Are you using the default control panel or the new one that was suggested (control3.exe)?
