Xampp-control uses 25% of CPU

Postby le_top » 06. August 2011 14:27

Hi
The Xampp-control.exe panel takes 25% of my CPU power. Not the HTTPD not the MYSQLD - the Xampp-control. When I stop both the HTTPD and MYSQLD services, the Xampp-control continues loading the CPU - only when I stop the Xampp control panel, the cpu load goes down.

Therefore, it has nothing to do with the 'httpd-mpm.conf' (in which I changed ' #Win32DisableAcceptEx' to make sure).

The CPU is a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P8700 @ 2.53GHz running Win7 64bit Pro. Xampp-control is running as a 32bit process.

This post is mainly for information - my solution is to exit Xampp-control when I do not need it.

Xampp-control is version 2.5.8 and Xampp is V 1.7.3. I thought I had the latest package, but I do not apparently (the current version is 1.7.4) - but Xampp-control is still the same version, so I do not expect that the issue is solve in the new version.

I fetched it and named it xampp-control.exe - things got worse: now the control panel uses 44% of the CPU power...
