I jsut installed XAMPP on Windows XP OS, the installation went fine. I started XAMPP got the splash page, selected English snd looked around just fine.
When I try to access my web page I am getting the following error message:

Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.
Error 404
127.0.0.1

can any body point me to the right direction in solving the problem?

What URL does the address bar of your browser show, if the error occurs?
Where is your file saved?
What shows your \xampp\apache\error.log file?

Why do so many people think, that someone from far away can debug this error without these information?

Hello Alterea, Yes you are correct I didn't provided all necessary information to get the help I needed, I will do better next time. For now I got a hint from checkd the log file, and my index.html file is not in the appropriate folder and resulted in the error. In any case thank you for taking your time to read my problem and tried to help me
