Search Box doesn't work

I am newbie to this forum. Hope I am welcome!!
Why the Search option at the top of the window doesn't work?
Why I have to click "advanced search" to search for topics??
Is it a bug?

I think they were doing database maintenance.

Note - it did say - 'please try again later'.

its working now
