I tried the wamp then deleted it and installed xampp, big pr

I installed WAMP first, then uninstalled it and tried to install XAMPP. I then tried the http//localhost, I got the WAMP startup page and I still get it even after deleting all files and reinstalling it twice. Please help on getting the right settings done so I don't have to delete the whole thing and reinstall windows xp.
