Status Check Failure [295]

Postby kodewithk » 19. May 2011 12:25

Hey,

iam trying to create an environment were i can mock around to learn php, mysql and i was told XAMPP is the way to go. But when i install it i get the "Status Check Failure [295]" and the index.php tells me that something is wrong with the installation. I have been trying to search for an answer here and on google but i cant find anything. I would appreciate it very much if someone could help me with this problem or give me a hint of were i can find the answer.

When you install it? On which point of the installation process?

Which XAMPP Version do you use?
Which OS do you use?
In which path do you install XAMPP?

Your error reporting is something like "my car of undefined brand isn't working. How can i fix it?"
Much more information please. Tell us anything which can be important.

Thank you so much for your answer!

You are right, it is hard to know whats wrong when i dont give so much info. But i thought you only needed the "error code" or whatever to know what the problem was, but hey you learn every day right?
In any case, iam using windows vista and did use the "XAMPP for Windows 1.7.4" .exe-file from here: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html#641

The point were i get the "Status Check Failure [295]"-message is when i launch XAMPP's control panel. Before that, nothing.

I did have problem before with the UAC messed things up but i did deactivate it and problem solved.

I have been thinking if i should install Apache etc. one by one and that would help? But iam afraid that if it dont workout iam not able to properly uninstall it.

Thoughts? =)
