curl on Windows 2008 R2 Server 64 Bit

Postby tholyoak » 22. April 2011 20:50

This is my 4th installation of XAMPP over the last several years. I'm trying to get our web sites going on a new server with Windows 2008 R2 64 bit. I've got everything working - multiple domains/IPs, SSL, etc. - except for curl. I suspect it has something to do with the heightened security in the OS.

I've uncommented the curl extension in php.ini and copied the DLLs to the syswow64 folder. I've restarted Apache and even rebooted the machine.

What have I missed?

Ah, it turns out that the php extensions path was not correctly defined in php.ini. I've now got it working properly - and the DLLs are not needed anywhere in the Windows folders (I don't know why they would be looked for in syswow64, now that I think about it, but they are also not needed in system32).
