Two Problems

Postby rayvaci » 13. April 2011 00:52

1st. Error says that. "XAMPP Component Status Check Failure [3]. Current directory: c:\xampp Run this program only from your XAMPP root directory."
2nd. When i installed the XAMPP, there was an error which is in the following; "Port 80 or 443 (SSL) already in use. Installing Apache2.2 service failed".

I did some research in the forum, but couldn't find the answer. I have win7 64bit. I did the un-checking the Skype option which didn't work. There is one solution which is going to device manager and disable the printer. I don't think that is a proper way to solve it.

It says that it is not for windows 64bit, but i don't know if that is the real issue here. Please comment.

"If it is System process (PID 4), you need to disable HTTP.sys driver which is started on demand by another service, such as Windows Remote Management/Print Spooler on Windows 7. There are two ways to disable it:
1. Go to Device Manager, select “Show hidden devices” from Menu/View, go to “Non-Plug and Play Driver”/HTTP and disable it. Then reboot.
2. Launch RegEdit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HTTP. Change the value of ‘start’ to 4 (disabled) then reboot."

Three problems really ;)

1. Read this topic:
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=44320

2. Download this little freeware non install app that will let you know what is using the ports that Apache needs exclusively - 80 and 443 as indicated in the error message:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/cports.html
Apache can't share ports and the most likely suspect after Skype is IIS (World Wide Publishing) the Windows default enabled web server - disable this and try again:

3. This is the German language forum and so eventually this topic will be moved to the XAMPP for Windows English forum.
