Hi,
I try to find utility to prepare framework for my web experiments and (before it was WebServ)
I found your XAMPP solution. I want to start to use it, but I can’t find answer for my basic question,
so be so kind as to prompt me.

I use windows 7 Prof and I have installed (because I prepare some programs in C++ and database)
MySQL 5.1.33 with lot of clients databases. As I see XAMPP can install it’s own MySQL to work
with PHP.

For me ideal situation is that XAMPP install Apache and PHP but use my instance of MySQL.
Is it possible and, if yes, how can I do it.

Du kannst deinen bestehenden MySQL Server ganz einfach mit XAMPP verwenden, indem du den MySQL Server der XAMPP beiliegt einfach nicht startest.
Und da die XAMPP Komponenten weitestgehend Registry-unabhängig sind, brauchst du dir da auch keine Gedanken zu machen MySQL mit auf deine Festplatte zu packen, dies beeinflusst deine bestehende MySQL installation in keinster Weise. Deshalb ist "installation" in Bezug auf XAMPP auch eigentlich zuviel gesagt.
