Mercury mails mulitple times

Postby Memphiz » 28. February 2011 15:23

Hi all,

I have set up a mercury mail server and i'm able to mail to root@localhost.com using the php mail() function.
I can also read the mail with outlook express.
It all works fine but sometimes (very often) the mail i send with php arrives multiple times on my mail box...
The amount of mails sent is always different (sometimes 5 times, sometimes even 100+ times)
Last time i checked one mail was sent 46535 times (wth?!)
Anyone familiar with this? or knows a solution?

regards,

hi, thanks for your reply,
I checked that a few times, and didn't notice any loop in that document ;)

I've never got this problem or read it, so it was a guess of a loop in your script or your script is in a loop, a not initialized variable..

now i'm pretty sure the mercury mail server is the problem.
now it just keeps on sending mails?!?! even when i restart the server?!?!
it also does this when only the mercury mail server is on (so when apache, mysql are off)
This is really driving me crazy.. it's sending mails i've sent 5 days ago (or so) and it won't stop...

could it be because i'm sending mails from and to the same address??

It's solved.
it appears it was that stupid MCAFEE that ruins my day.
another reason to erase and never use mcafee again ...
