Error 503 when directory named "examples"

Postby rbruhn » 19. February 2011 15:27

Whenever I name a directory as "examples" in my development sites, I receive a Error 503 Service unavailable page.
For example: http://mysite.loc/examples/
In using Drupal examples module, http://drupal.loc/examples/ajax_example/simplest causes same error.
I have tested this on several of my local sites and whenever I use a directory named "examples" an error is thrown.
My virtualhosts are all set up correctly and work fine.

Apache error log shows nothing.
The local site error log shows:

[Sat Feb 19 08:34:50 2011] [error] (OS 10061)No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. : proxy: AJP: attempt to connect to 127.0.0.1:8009 (127.0.0.1) failed
[Sat Feb 19 08:34:50 2011] [error] ap_proxy_connect_backend disabling worker for (127.0.0.1)
[Sat Feb 19 08:34:50 2011] [error] proxy: AJP: failed to make connection to backend: 127.0.0.1

If the directory is renamed to "example" everything works fine. Anyone have any ideas? I'm thinking it has something to do with Tomcat and it's examples directory. I do not use Tomcat though.

Windows 7

Solved.

Needed to comment out the line:
ProxyPass /examples ajp://127.0.0.1:8009/examples smax=0 ttl=60 retry=5
in C:\xampp\apache\conf\extra\httpd-ajp.conf
