One server, two Apaches (incl. one XAMPP) and...

Postby trejder » 17. February 2011 11:06

Hi there,

In current situation I'm forced to install XAMPP Lite for Windows on the server machine, where there is already Apache installed.

After install I have therefore two co-existing installations of Apache. Even though I relocate XAMPP, it always starts-up Apache copy, which was already installed in the system, not the one bundled with it.

What can I do about it? Forcing to run myself apache.exe doesn't seems to be a solution as it requires a large number of startup switches (execution arguments), which I don't know.

BTW: Both copies of Apache will listen on different ports (set in httpd.conf), therefore they should not interact each other. But before I'll be able to test and confirm this, I'll have to find a way to run Apache bundled with XAMPP without any interruption to existing Apache one. Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks in advance and Cheers,
Trejder
