Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.
I am new to this bb and just started training for php and Mysql. Unfortunately, Mysql is unactivated on status check via browser localhost URL. I do not know if the problem is related to an existing Mysql on my system which has a password. On using the xampp control panel and clicking on admin it would not work. However on the browser phpAdmin works for the old Mysql not the xampp Mysql.
What is the error message: status check failure . How is it related to the deactivated Mysql and how can it be activated. Help needed a.s.a.p.

You will need to correctly uninstall your previous version of MySQL - you don't really need 2 MySQL versions as XAMPP will only have conflict issues with your existing MySQL version.
