Need help to reset password

Hi all,

I made a mistake and I believe I wiped out the main root mysql password. I thought if I completly removed xxamp and reinstalled, I could start from the beginning. Still doesn't work.

How do I reset the main password on my computer?

The 2nd thing.

I was trying to setup Drupal on my computer to try it out. I need to add a db for Drupal to use. I went thru the instructions to add a user to the database, but it adds the user to the whole mysql. When I ran
Drupal, it couldn't find the database.

Any help would be nice.
