Recently installed subject onto Windows 7 machine, with the installer, to C:\xampp, restarted machine etc...

Attemping to stop the service from either control dialog or with "xampp_stop.exe" nets the following error messages:

"Can not find Apache process #1908"
"Can not find MySQL process # 2084"
