I have installed the xampp version 1.7.2, on windows 2003 server.
All service then i need have working normally, i have installed the dotproject and is working normally in localhost, but when i try access for the internet, using the ip adress in other computer, in a diferent network, the adress is not found.

I stop the IIS service, but dont work, i "check-port" on xampp controler and the 80 is associeted with the c:\xampp\apache\bin\httpd.exe.
I add a excepiton for port 80 on the firewall, and deactivated the IIS service.
i realy dont now what i must to do now, i try find the answer on the forum but i dont get success.

The administrator of the network of the place assured me the network is working appropriately.

If someone already pass by this, give some clue.

thx,

Guilherme.

You can check if your IP is accessing your XAMPP server by going here:
http://centralops.net/co/DomainDossier.aspx

Add your IP to the box provided and tick all the boxes.

Down at the bottom of the returned page you will see the result of a Service scan.

If you see HTTP - 80 has your server details then your server can be accessed from the Internet.

If you don't see your server details then your port 80 may be blocked by your ISP or your own PC is blocking port 80 somehow and both avenues would need further investigation.

Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice.
I test the ip adress in the site you have pass me, and i receive this message

lookup failed XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
Could not find a domain name corresponding to this IP address.

i hide the ip adress for security ;D

well, this can be a problem with the computer or is more than with the network?

i try use other port, in the localhost work fine, in localhost:8181, but in network, i have the same problem, then i go back to port 80 again.

I appreciete the help.

Guilherme.

That message does not mean much, only there is no domain name associated with it, but the rest of the page has much more info about the IP.

What did that page say about what was using HTTP - 80 under Service scan?

What network does the IP belong etc etc etc. - you only provided very limited info to work with.

Does the IP belong to your ISP?
