hey,
i recently installed xampp
when i try to load the localhost page it takes 10 minutes to load and doesnt even load the full page
i have set the apache server to port 80 (ive tried 8080 and it doesnt work either)
i have apache and mysql running fine, but the localhost page wont load
its not skype thats the problem (already tried that)
b4 xampp i had regular apache and that straight out didnt work (error message on localhost page)
i also commented out "::1 localhost" on the host file in windows
that didnt seem to help either...
does anyone know what the problem could be?

Any clues by running \xampp\xampp-portcheck.exe before trying to start Apache or MySQL as all ports should be free.

If all ports are free try and start Apache and MySQL by using the XAMPP Control Panel but first making sure that there are no ticks in any of the Svc check boxes.

If both Apache and MySQL starts they will show a green running indication.

Then try and access http://localhost in your browser but first delete your browser's cache (temporary Internet files).
