Help with setting up new database

Hi there. I am very new to all of this and having not used any of the software for about a month I seem to have forgotten all the basics, so I am asking for some help please!

I have installed xampp and am using wordpress locally to create a website for testing etc. I haven't got very far but want to keep what I have to experiment.

I now need to create a second website which is entirely separate from the first I have been playing with. I have no idea how to do this! I have tried going to myphp admin and creating a new database, which appears to be there, but I have no idea how to access it through wordpress etc.

Can anyone help me please? Preferably in words of one syllable lol!
