Hi guys,

I know they are "root" and "blank" as in "", my question is, can I change the user from "root" to something I want? Or, can I create a new user and password?

Thanks

Great answer,

I wonder if Google is able to read as well as you so that it could actually answer my question. I know the password, I want to change the user, or create a new one.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the Apache Friends support Forum? Even if I google, where do you think it would have linked me to?? Oh yes, how silly of me, I thought this was the Apache Friends support Forum.

Well, there is more than one possibility.

Either use phpmyadmin. There is a permissions tab right after the login where you can manipulate every user you want.
or use the command-line with its own commands to make the changes you want.

But be sure you know what you are doing. Some users are needed for the xampp example applications or phpmyadmin. So if you change the username or password fpr root or pma, you had to changed them in the applications too.
