I was having a problem when running a simple php insert page that called from a file that had a class with functions. I had the following error..
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'cw1'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in C:\xampp\htdocs\wk7\studentfunc.php on line 29
SQL Connection error: Access denied for user 'cw1'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
User name and password was correct . My db_config.php was correct. Without going into too many details, I decided to go into privledges and clear some user accounts.
Immediately after doing that, I recieved the following error :

Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed.
phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server.
