Redirecting issue ... I think

Postby Lussay » 25. December 2010 06:29

Hi,

I am new to the forum and I just installed xampp on my PC.

Xamp is installed in E:\xamp\xampp

Now the issue.

If for example I put a php script in htdocs like E:\xamp\xampp\htdocs\index.php and go on it and run it in the browser like double clicking, the script will not run and the address that I will get in the browser is file:///E:/xamp/xampp/htdocs/index.php .

If I go in the browser and I type http://localhost/index.php and press enter then it works.

So what I would like to know is if there is any way so that I can double click on a script or file and for it to automatically use the localhost pathway.

Thank you very much,

Lucian

no, there is no way.
If I go in the browser and I type http://localhost/index.php and press enter then it works.

in this case apache server interprets and execute the script.
Code: Select all
E:\xamp\xampp\htdocs\index.php and go on it and run it in the browser like double clicking,

in this case windows open the file by preinstalled SW like notepad..
