when click on INTERNAL links in my local test site --- each time i click, no matter what internal link it will be ---> it always brings me back to XAMPP lobby.

HTdocs is indeed in place.

what else?

How does one of the Links look like?
Do you have your default index.php file in the htdocs folder?
Do you use .htaccess files?
