Displaying html pages

Hey all,

I am a newbie and have moved my html pages to the local host root directory (htdocs). All these pages are separate html pages (such as mainpage.html, header.html, footer.html, sidebar.html etc)When I uploaded these pages to my school server, they worked as expected and I was able to see footer.html, header.html, and sidebar.html all on the mainpage. Though, I am not getting the same results on the localhost/xampp.
Can anyone please help me?
