new install, used the EXE file and mysql problem

In the mysql error file i see this over and over..
and this is a new install with the xampp-win32-1.7.3.exe file

OK - I guess I should ask - exactly what do you mean by "used the EXE file" ?? do you mean you tried to run/start the MySQL daemon (\xampp\mysql\bin\mysqld.exe) with your own command line argument/option list?

If so - you have some syntax wrong

The easiest way to start MySQL in a XAMPP environment is with the XAMPP Control Panel.

Other questions -

Have you had MySQL installed (or is it still installed) on the host machine?

It looks like you are running from a USB stick, perhaps?

The first two items are not errors -

Federated is a database engine that is disabled by default on a standard MySQL install.
InnoDB is also a database engine that may or may not be needed for your application.

This item probably comes from a MySQL start sequence OTHER than XAMMP and it might be a syntax error anyway.

What OS version of XAMPP are you running? and what is the host machine running?

XAMPP Windows 1.7.3.exe is the exe.

i did the install, and everything works except mysql which errors out. and can't find a log to see what is wrong. I thought if i used the automatic install with XAMPP Windows 1.7.3.exe all would work.,

the '--skip-bdb' is in the installed my.ini file in xampp/mysql/bin/my.ini file as was the other errors. I remed the other data base out.

this is a windows xampp1.7.3.exe install.

Is there another that works for WinXP?
