Setup fails with missing file on Windows 7 with 1.7.3

Postby Guy Scharf » 28. September 2010 03:29

I just downloaded the basic version of XAMPP 1.7.3 to my Windows 7 system. I ran the self-extracting RAR file and installed to G:\XAMPP. When the setup script starts automatically, I get this error:

Code: Select all
Warning: require(G:\xampp\install\xampp_xampp.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in G:\xampp\setup_xampp.bat on line 33

Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required 'G:\xampp\install\xampp_xampp.php' (include_path='.;.\pear') in G:\xampp\setup_xampp.bat on line 33

and, in fact, there is no xampp_xampp.php file anywhere on my system.

Help! What do I do now?

Thank you.

Right you are! Looks like I somehow got the upgrade file instead of the full install file. And I thought I was careful to click on the correct link.
