tomcat eclipse java ee connection problem

Postby drealecs » 27. September 2010 20:26

Hello all,

I'm trying to create a new server runtime environment in eclipse 3.6.1 for the tomcat installation 6.0.20 in xampp 1.7.3 on windows. When I select the folder tomcat, the error that shows is:
The Apache Tomcat installation at this directory is version 6.0-snapshot. A Tomcat 6.0 installation is expected.

How can this be solved?
Is there a way to modify tomcat to report as beeing version 6.0? or modify eclipse to accept 6.0-snapshot?
Or shall I install tomcat in other ways?

I fixed this by upgrading the tomcat server to 6.0.29 from http://tomcat.apache.org/download-60.cgi
The files needed was:
Binary Distributions:
Core 32-bit Windows zip
and
Deployer zip

I then changed the jre because I want to use the latest 6 version and finally everything works fine now.

Hi,

Could you please specify how you upgrade xampp addon to 6.0.29 ?
I tried just replacing content of bin/deploy folders with the content of 6.0.29, but this does not work to me.
Appreciate your help here.

Thanks
