Tomcat Manager Authentication Fails

I have installed XAMPP and Tomcat plugin on my Windows XP machine. At first the Manager worked fine. I even added another user to the tomcat-users-xml and the new user worked without any problems. However, a day later I needed to do some configuration, using the Manager, and now authentication no longer works. It doesn't work with the new user I had added and it no longer works with the default user.

I have been unable to discover why this is no longer working. I need some help, please!
