As I remember previous versions of the installer gave an option to make the xampp services autostart.
It would be great if this came back and even better if auto starting was the default.

The latest stable release (XAMPP 1.7.3) does have the option to register each xampp component as Windows Service.
Just tick the svc-checkboxes in the control panel, or run the installservice.bat files in the folders.

Just for info: This only works if there is no other Apache-, MySQL-Server already registered as Service, because they use the same service-name.
