Localhost 404 error

Hello All:

I'm running XAMPP on a Win 7 netbook. It all ran rather smoothly until the last time I tried to connect to the localhost and all I'm getting now is a 404 error. :(

I'm using the locally hosted site to lift info from another site. I've configured my IP to be 192.168.0.1 on the Ethernet port, and until recently heading to http://192.168.0.1/index.php would bring my site up. Now, it doesn't do that, and actually going to http://localhost/index.php only brings me a 404 error message. My files are currently hosted in C:/xampp/htdocs/index.php

My routine usually consisted on disabling the WiFi adapter, changing the IP and subnet of the Ethernet port, and running XAMPP. Unfortunately now I can't seem to get anything out of it.

Anyone has any ideas as to what I could look for?

Cheers!
