MySQL not start from USB key install

Postby mmcglynn » 17. August 2010 15:14

I am running XAMPP for Windows from a USB drive. The Control Panel shows that the MySQL service is not running, but the console window says that it has started. It has not. How can I get it to start?

have you tested the situation with say, phpMyAdmin?
OR
Looked in the Windows Service Control Manager?

You also fail to say what version of XAMPP your are running

JonB's comments +1

do you have mysql configured to listen on a non-standard port?
If the console indicates it's running, what makes you say it's not, other than the xampp-control status?
