You'll get better help on forums that are oriented toward development.
On the assumption that you are trying to write an app in PHP or such, here are three I look on:

On a matter of clarification: databases only understand datatypes, and since the information you have is text, it gets stored in a column with a text datatype.

Reson detre
It is a php page with an swf flash movie and in dreamweaver and it doe's not pre-view on the local host.
When I find the procedure, I will update this post.
May help someone.

The swf file is probably a media player, not the 'playable' Flash file, which is most likely a .flv file.
