Xammp Security and phpMyAdmin

Hi
A clearer explanation.
I'm getting no where with axammp.
I create a password: xxxxxxxxxx.
It is the same as the DW testing server which, is the 1and1 ftp password.
I go to phpMyAdmin to create a DB and the login page requires a user name also?
Plus it is defaulting my email address?
No amount of combinations work...
Any advice.

Where do you create this wonderful password?
If its MySQL password then the username is root.

Hi Radzio
My inexperience means I don't entriely understand you...
The password was created for a 1and1 / ftp account.
Its user name and password are also the remote and testing server info in DW site manger setup.
It was the same ftp password I used for the xammp seruity super user set up, nothing more.

Funny thing is that I don't understand you. When you setup FTP account you provide username and password. MySQL passwords as well as any other are completely different things..

Now, I'm really confused.
Please let type out loud.lol
Local server xammp.
Xammp simulates online server.
Online server is 1and1.
1and1 has ftp.
ftp requires password.
Local host server xammp requires password.
But it is not the same as the 1and1 ftp password.
It is a login password.
Login password created through xammp securities.
I create a password and go to phpMyadmin.
I use password.
And the same error runs.
Why doe's the login page require a user name when it was not created in the securities set up?
I'm confused...

Because it states that username to mysql is:
Code: Select all
root

The security page tells you that you are going to set password of root.

Thank you
I've just returned home from work to read my words, yours and Alteras.
Upon reflection, words are a true as pictures and never lie. I really do need help.
lol

Well, i haven't said something helpful here.
But reflection is always a good thing ;)
