MySql password error

While trying to change mysqlpw. the following error occur: ERROR: The string for the user name and password must be 3 to 15 characters long. Special characters like <öäü (usw.) and empty characters are not allowed! I did not safe my pw in a textfile.
Can somebody please help! Thanks in advance, Tiebreaker.

Always back up everything, if you are running for a while now with the default user name
its recomended that u do a fresh install, some nasty bots are out there.
then change all passwords ftp,mysql,apache
if you need the old data bases, you can find your password here C:\xampp\phpMyAdmin\config.inc.php
i am not sure but i think u need this one to config.inc.php.safe in the same directory.
