Re-installed 1.6.3a - Strange Redirect & No Vhosts

Hi all, I so hope some can help me here.

After a few attempts of upgrading to 1.7 without any success, I decided to revert to my last stable version 1.6.3.

Fresh install, all services killed and uninstalled, xampp folder removed and reboot.

I took the backup i have of my "mysql/data" folder and "htdocs/my subdir" and pasted back into the default directory structure "C:\xampp"

I copied my good working "httpd-vhosts.conf" file to replace the new one.

Stop and start apache & mysql ( I rebooted also ) and went to my main site:

http://www.3Ddesktops.co.uk

Homepage comes up but all my links end up to a 404 page and I know all the urls is correct ( double, triple, google checked )

And...

all my other sites do not work at all, just return a 500 server error

IE:

http://www.windows-7-wallpapers.com/

I am totally stumped. I have previously rolled back to this version using this method and all's been good, but obviously I'm missing something.

I can access everything in the xampp control panel (phpmyadmin etc) but when I check the status MySQL database & PHP are "DEACTIVATED".

But I know they're running....

I would be extremely grateful is anyone can help, I really at a loss as to how to proceed, like I said, this is my roll back :0(

Thanks in advance

[Wed Apr 21 20:55:45 2010] [alert] [client 203.131.250.19] D:/windows-7-wallpapers.com/.htaccess: Invalid command 'RewriteEngine', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

hope you can help....

o der, hands up for the most pointless post ever!!!!

Uncommented the rewirte module in apache\conf\httpd.comf and all is good with that problem, however I stil have this issue with my status showing de-activated.

Is this something to worry about?

Thanks
