Difference between WAMPP and XAMPP For Windows

Hello,

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 windows packages - WAMPP and XAMPP For Windows.

XAMPP is the one that is linked to from the site so I assume that is more recent even tho tho WAMPP has a larger version number.

Hi,

as you assumed XAMPP is the more aktuell Version.
There used to be 2 WAMPP's

WAMPP1.X and WAMPP2.X
Then we decided that WAMPP and LAMPP are very common Names and there we're many confused Users....
So we call both XAMPP...
Also because WAMPP and LAMPP we're to different in Versions...
Now we are trying to keep the Versions on the Same Level...
