XAMPPLite and OpenSLL/Email ... help!

I am unsure what to do at this point. I have a senior project and in it i am setting up an e-mail script to automatically e-mail a set of people when a button is clicked. For awhile the mail php was not right... i believe it is right now and i got hte sendmail to work (I set it up so that it runs through gmail) The problem is in the error log of sendmail it says SSL not available on this server. So i went to look to try to set up SSL but i can't find out how to do it with xampplite. Is anyone able to help me.. I have looked online everywhere and looked around for configuration files but I am not sure where it is or how to enable it. I am using xampplite with windows. Thank you for your help!
