Hi All

I am a totally new to all of this. I have downloaded and attempted to install Windows XAMPP on my external HD, however it has come up with a fatal error - failed to open stream, no such file or directory blah blach (directory listing) and then line 33.

Now I am presuming this is something to do with installing on a device that can change's its directory location?? If you know what I mean??
What do I have to do to correct this??

Thanks for your help.

Em

have you run the setup_xampp.bat script?
in this you will be ask if you want to create xampp portable or not.
and the setup_xampp.bat script edit paths in your xampp config files fully automatic

It comes up with the fatal error message when I try to do that and will not let me do anything else - it says press any key and then the control panel shuts down.

Okay, then.

Try it this way:
- Download the zip-version of xampp (not the installer)
- unzip the file in the root directory of your external HD
- start setup_xampp.bat in this directory
