Is this information top secret? I have been searching now for 2days for the "rprper syntax" I am UPDATE mysql.user SET Password = PASSWORD<'newpassword'> WHERE user = 'root';
After I hit enter I get this 1604 (4600) syntax error check manual for version you are using for correct syntax. I am using this mysql XAMPP package for a BEGINNERS online course for MSQL at lynda.com I think I found the manual but it sdoes not make any sense to me I AM A BEGINNER!!!!! So who do I have to pay homage too in order to be enlightened to the proper syntax? So far this MySQL has been on GIANT PAIN IN THE ASS!!!!!

FRUSTRATED in Middle burg Fl

I did check google and bing and Yahoo and other forum like this one. I do not think that it was as much that I could not find the answer but that I could not understand and thus process the information that I was viewing. I have BTW received from one of the instructors at lynda.com the information about the syntax a matter of "( )" vs "< > ". Your comment was quite helpful in contributing to the "Mysql GREAT Big Pain in the ASS" issue.

Yes ur,
