Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

I can't get xampp to work and I want uninstall it and start again. I tried to delete the folder but I keep getting the message "You need permission to perform this action" I've tried resetting the security settings on the folder, but still get the same result. I'm running Windows Vista 64bit. Can anyone tell me what to do with simple instructions ( I'm a newbie at this). Thanks

You need to shut down the Apache, MySQL, and FileZilla Services. These are locking up their own files so you can't delete the directory or everything in it. You can do this by opening the XAMPP control panel and hitting stop next to each one that is started or going into the folder and running the stop.bat of each service.
