Installing MySql server in addition to xampp

I'm working my project on MySql as backend and php as frontend. I'have installed XAMPP server on my desktop. Is further installation of MySql server, apache server and php expected from me? Pleace help me!

No, XAMPP already provides Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl, and some others. All you have to do is to start them. Go to \xampp\xampp-control.exe, then turn on what you need (probably Apache and MySQL). Installing them as services makes it easier, as they start when you log on, but it is not required, and requires administrator privileges.
