Root File?

Postby Smackety » 27. March 2010 03:26

So I want to make a basic page.
How do I make my site have a root file?

I'm completely new to this...I have an index.html made in my htdocs folder, but when I visit 127.0.0.1 (my site) I get "Index of \" and it shows the files on my server.

It shows me the index.html, and to visit it I either have to click it from there on or type 127.0.0.1/index.html.

How do I make index.html my root file so when I type in 127.0.0.1, it visits the index.html?

Thanks ^_^

Are you sure you run a xampp package?
The standard installation cofigures his Apache to search for several standard file extensions (index.html too) if none is giving in the browser adressbar.
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

It's like porn for programmers 8)
